When I FINALLY caught Valley, I brought her up to the house, and groomed her. I also picked her hooves out, the first time I've done it to her! She did good!
But when I stared desensitizing her to the handy stick she did good. Until we got to the frontfeet-*shudder*- she did BAD!!!!!!! I have trouble getting it around her feet, and she just ran around. Valley just hated it! So did I.
Finally I just did something different. I disengaged her hindquarters up to 10. Translate: I disengaged her till she did 1 correct step, then I stopped and rubbed her. Then I disengaged her till she did 2 correct step, then 3, then 4 ect....
After that, I took her to the pasture and let her go. Hopefully I'll do better next time!
Love,
Sarah
