A big update

Howdy pawtnuhs!
SO sorry for not posting in almost a month. Not sure what got into me... I have been busy this weekend (and I got grounded...) but that's hardly an excuse. I can NOT believe I haven't posted since Valley was lame. That seems AGES ago!!

Anyways, Valley's leg is (obviously) healed. My dad put up almost the rest of the fence (only a small part is fenceless), and we had been letting Valley out into the upper pasture all day, and letting her out at night.

Well, one day all of us (me, Adam, and mom) were somewhere (not sure where.), but my dad and brother Luke was home. It was almost dark, and Valley got out. She went to her usual spot of course. Dad said that Valley had never been so hard to catch before. I guess since she hadn't been over there in a while.

But he said about ten people came out or stopped their cars, offering help, lol! That must have been so embarrassing... I'm glad I wasn't there :P Dad even had food, and she wouldn't come. Finally, the guy that owns the property (and the horses), said that until we get the fence completely put up, we could keep Valley over there (i mean for the weekend)! So that is where she has been all weekend. She won't even come up to me... :(

It rained all weekend, so Dad didn't get to finish the fence, so Valley is still over there. Dad is going to call the people and ask if they want us to take her back, or if they don't mind if she stays a little longer.

Okay, enough of Valley. I have some more news. Your probably wondering "Enough of Valley? but this is a blog ABOUT Valley!!" well yes, that is true. But this is kind of more of a horse blog. Not just Valley :D Despite the title.. but I have some AWESOME news!!!!!! So I'll quit babbling and tell you:

Okay, so this guy we've known for a long time who owns a sort of stable (I'll say his name is Dan) called us saying he knew this guy who has lost his house and his land, and he needs to get rid of his 3 horses. For free. Dad said we can go look at them, and if we like 'em and their good, then we can take one MAYBE even two!!!!!
So this is ALL we know so far about them:
  1. There is an 8 yr old, but he/she has some kind of medical problem (not sure what it is), and has to take a pill every day, and so we can't get him/her probably cuz it's prob too expensive or whatever.
  2. There is a 15 yr old (the one I'm most interested in) mustang that hasn't been ridden in a while
  3. And a 20 yr old strawberry roan
That is all I know about them. But I wrote down some questions I want to ask when we go see them, and I printed off some information of what to do when I go to look at them. I mean, the only time I've ever bought a horse was Valley, and I took my friend Jessica with me (she's pretty experienced), and she did all the checking her over and stuff. But this time, I'm not bringing an experienced friend, and I need to know what to do anyways. I can't wait!

I hope SOOO badly it works out! Last night the only thing I dreamed about was the horses, lol! I dreamed we got all of them, and the mustang died giving birth to a little foal, and the other two horses were chestnut. Yup. That's mostly it :P For some reason, I can only picture the mustang being a really dark bay. I wonder what he/she is like... OO! I can't wait!!

I was thinking that if we get the mustang, and we like the strawberry roan, then maybe we can get both, and if we can't keep both, then we could find a home for the roan, since the man needs to get rid of them now. I feel so bad for him!! :(

Well, I guess that's all... I think I'll go post on my regular blog now, so you all won't kill me.

-Sarah

p.s. here is a good updated picture of Valley:

P.P.S. just so you know what Strawberry roan looks like, here is a picture I found on the internet:

@Mellimaus: I don't think any of them have been ridden in a while, but I am not sure.

I want the 15 yr old because I've been wanting a younger one (even though he/she is a lil older than I'd like..).

@Megan: Yeah it is! I just haven't been getting any business lately :( But I put out some more flyers, so maybe it'll pick up :)
