I chose 'yes, but not as much as any other time of the year'. Why? Because they don't live in a stall, but out in the pasture all day and all night, and in the Summer, there is lot's of grass, so they can eat more grass in the Summer than they can any other time. They don't need as much grain, so I feed them a little less. Soon though, I need to start giving them a little more, then a little more, so by the time all the grass and trees 'die' they will be back to their regular amount of food. :)

Can Grown Lipizzaner's Be Black?

Adult Black Lipizzaner

BLAAAH! WRONG!

I don't think so.. 11%
Oops, you're wrong!

Wrong AGAIN!

Yes, but it's rare 22%
Correct!!

"Born dark, black-brown, brown or mouse-grey, Lipizzans turn white somewhere between the ages of 6 and 10. As mentioned above, only in rare cases does the horse stay the original dark color."
From: http://www.ansi.okstate.edu/breeds/horses/lipizzan/index.htm

"Foals are usually dark or black-brown when born. They go through several different color changes before finally achieving their adult color between the ages of four and ten. Most often, the color is light-gray or white. However, there are also duns and bays. They are simply not as common and it is a rarity to have an adult Lipizzaner be totally black-brown or black."
